"Achados e Perdidos" is the début album from brazilian singer, composer and multinstrumentist Curumin. Produced by Gustavo Lenza, this is another strong statement by independent record company YB Music about the creative freedom that is intrinsic to the newest generation of artists in brazilian music. The album represents the evolution of samba and its ability to dialog and process various influences. Right from the start of the track entitled "Guerreiro", this becomes clear: to the strong samba grooves are added phrases and timbres, creating a very sophisticated scheme of questions and answers which, at this very moment, ends up reinventing our national rhythm. Curumin is mainly a drummer, which becomes clear throughout his work, for the energy that comes out of his rhythmic conception. Electronic sounds are added to traditional percussion instruments and ukelele. Low sounds give the depth and punch peculiar to the music that emerged after the rock and roll from the 50's, while other high frequency sounds give us a sense of being visited by aliens. So at the same time we are deep in Brazil's roots and right in the middle of a Sci-Fi journey.
